On October 29, 2009,
Google introduced
Adwords comparison ads. This empowers users to compare prices,
such as mortgage rates, side by side instantly as a result of their
searches. This is similar, but different than
Google Product Search,
also known as Google base. Google Adwords comparison ads will allow
advertisers to present their products directly to the user, but you
better have competitive pricing, or you will be showing how bad your
prices are. You will also need to constantly monitor the prices
since your price might of been the lowest when you first
placed your ads, but later in the day, your competitor reacts and
lowers their prices. There are several
price comparison sites, like
smarter.com,
pricegrabber.com, and many others. These are different than
Adwords comparison ads since the search results appear from within
Google.
